2000 Silverado 5.3 Vortec

Within a month of purchasing the CJ7 I found a totaled 2000 Silverado pickup from a friend of mine.  His son had totaled the truck. The engine and transmission appeared to be in complete working order.  Actually drove the truck to my shop.  One had 1 left turn which was nearly impossible because of the frame being severely bent.

Just purchased my first Jeep CJ7.

Finally, found a suitable CJ7 for a complete restomod.  This CJ7 came out of Sontag, MS.  I have been in Mississippi most of my life… like to have never found Sontag, MS.  After inspecting the CJ7, the frame was perfect.  There were a few rusted out spots on the body.  Nothing that couldn’t be repaired.  The CJ7 was born with a 4cyl Iron Duke engine.  The engine was pretty rough condition.  Transmission, a T5, even worse shape.  I was able to drive the CJ7 onto my trailer for the journey back home to Gulfport, Mississippi.

1986 Jeep CJ7 

Purchased April 2016 

Follow along as I completely rebuild this 1986 Jeep CJ7.  My plans include a complete tear down to the frame.  I will be installing Dana 44 Rear end, as well as a 5.3 Vortec engine coupled to a 4L60E tansmission.  Custom body work, custom laser cut dash.  A complete restomod!
